On October 27, 2018, the handover ceremony of 1,000 sets of prefabricated houses aided by the Chinese government to Myanmar was held at the Port of Dilowa,
Yangon.

Chinese Ambassador to Myanmar Hong Liang and Myanmar’s Deputy Minister of Construction Kyaw Lin signed the handover certificate on behalf of the two
governments. Ambassador Hong Liang handed over the handover certificate to Myanmar’s Minister of State Affairs and Government Kyaw Dingrui, marking the official handover of the batch of materials to Myanmar. The Chief Minister of Yangon Province Piao Mindeng, Deputy Minister of Social Welfare and Relief and Resettlement of Myanmar So Ang, and the Economic and Commercial Counselor of the Chinese Embassy in Myanmar Xie Guoxiang attended the handover ceremony.

The Myanmar side stated that China’s assistance to 1,000 sets of prefabricated houses has provided important assistance for the Myanmar government to resettle
the displaced people in Rakhine State. This time, 1,000 sets of prefabricated houses in Myanmar were manufactured by Beijing Chengdong International Modular Housing
corporation.
